Summer 2025 Law Clerk

Law Clerk Program

Calling all aspiring advocates, change-makers, and future leaders in law!

The Office of the Attorney General’s Law Clerk Program offers law students a unique opportunity to serve the people of Maryland while gaining hands-on legal experience across a wide range of practice areas. From criminal investigations and consumer protection to advising state agencies, our law clerks contribute meaningfully to the work of the OAG.

Clerks are entrusted with meaningful responsibilities, including conducting legal research and writing, assisting with litigation, and contributing to the day-to-day work of the office. They also collaborate closely with the advice and counsel teams on a variety of legal matters.

As the largest public law office in the state, the Maryland Office of the Attorney General handles matters spanning criminal prosecution, civil litigation, environmental enforcement, securities and antitrust actions, public policy, advice and counsel, procurement, and so much more. Our attorneys serve as both advisors and litigators for Maryland’s agencies, boards, commissions, and officials—tackling complex legal issues that impact communities across the state.

Whether it’s protecting the Chesapeake Bay, safeguarding consumers, or advancing civil rights, our Law Clerk Program gives students the chance to be part of meaningful, mission-driven work. It’s more than a short-term experience—it’s a chance to make a difference.
