Decedent, Deputy, and Driver Identified in Fatal Officer-Involved Vehicle Collision in Calvert County

BALTIMORE, MD – The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General has identified the decedent, the driver, and the Calvert County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) Deputy involved in the fatal officer-involved vehicle collision that occurred on Friday, December 12, 2025, in Prince Frederick, Calvert County, Maryland.  

The decedent is identified as 58-year-old Servon Gatewood of Lusby, Maryland. 

The driver of the involved Nissan who was arrested by Maryland State Police is 32-year-old Savon Samuel of Pikesville, Maryland. Any questions related to the arrest of the driver should be directed to Maryland State Police. 

The involved CCSO deputy is Deputy Ryan Campbell, 4 years of service. Deputy Campbell is assigned to the Patrol Division.
