BALTIMORE, MD – The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General today released the identities of the decedent and the involved officer and the body-worn camera footage from the police-involved use of force incident involving the Baltimore County Police Department (BCoPD) that occurred on Monday, February 16, 2026, in Woodlawn, Baltimore County, Maryland.
The decedent is identified as 56-year-old Samuel Brown of Owings Mills, Maryland.
The involved officer is identified as BCoPD Officer Derek Hadel, a 9-year veteran. Officer Hadel is assigned to the Operations Bureau
