BALTIMORE, MD Maryland Attorney General Anthony G. Brown is alerting Maryland consumers who bought vehicles at Lindsay Ford of Wheaton, Maryland; Lindsay Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram in Manassas, Virginia; and Lindsay Chevrolet in Woodbridge, Virginia, that they will be receiving claims notices that may entitle them to significant refunds in connection with the purchase of their vehicles from these dealerships.

On April 2, 2026, Attorney General Anthony G. Brown announced that his Consumer Protection Division along with the Federal Trade Commission reached a settlement of civil charges against Lindsay Ford, LLC d/b/a Lindsay Ford of Wheaton; Lindsay Chevrolet, LLC d/b/a Lindsay Chevrolet in Woodbridge, VA; Lindsay Motors, LLC d/b/a Lindsay Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Ram in Manassas, VA; Lindsay Management Company, LLC; Michael Lindsay, an owner of the companies; and John Smallwood and Paul Smyth, two additional officers.

Under the settlement, consumers who purchased vehicles from these three dealerships may seek refunds of the amounts they paid to purchase or lease their vehicles above the vehicle’s advertised price. Consumers who purchased vehicles at Lindsay Ford may also seek refunds for add-on products or services that they purchased, such as vehicle service plans, service or maintenance plans, paint protection plans, GAP insurance or similar products, if they did not agree to purchase the product or service or thought these products were required to make the purchase.

Eligible consumers should expect to receive claims forms in the mail from Rust Consulting, the claims administrator in this matter. Consumers will have 180 days from the date their claim form was mailed to submit a claim. Attorney General Brown encourages consumers who purchased cars at these dealerships to check their mail carefully. Consumers with questions regarding whether they may be eligible to receive refunds may contact Rust Consulting at 1-833-472-1989 or may contact the Consumer Protection Division at 410-576-6456.
