New OAG.Maryland.Gov Website Enhances Accessibility, User Experience, and Public Service Delivery
BALTIMORE, MD (September 4, 2025) – Attorney General Anthony G. Brown today announced the launch of the Office of the Attorney General’s newly developed website at
oag.maryland.gov, developed in partnership with the Maryland Department of Information Technology (DoIT). The modernized platform represents a significant advancement in how the OAG shares information and serves Marylanders, featuring improved accessibility, streamlined navigation, and mobile-responsive design.
“Our new website reflects our commitment to making the Office of the Attorney General more accessible and efficient for all Marylanders,” said Attorney General Brown. “This modernized platform ensures Marylanders can quickly and easily access the services, information, and resources they need from our Office. This is a critical step forward in our strategic priority to enhance organizational efficiency and better serve the people of Maryland.”
“Websites are the ‘front door’ to government services, and they need to be accessible, secure, and mobile responsive,” says Maryland Department of Information Technology Secretary Katie Savage. “The Maryland Digital Service is partnering with agencies across the state, helping them create digital experiences that make it easier for Marylanders to get the services they deserve more quickly and easily. We are thrilled to see the success of the launch of the Attorney General’s new site as we continue to expand this work across the State of Maryland.”
The redesigned website delivers several key improvements:
- Modern, User-Focused Design: Visual interface that prioritizes user experience, featuring intuitive layouts, improved typography, and a professional look that reflects the Office’s commitment to public service
- Streamlined Navigation: Reorganized content structure and intuitive flow to help users find information quickly
- Enhanced Accessibility: Content written in plain language and in accessible formats, with improved readability
- Mobile-Responsive Design: Optimized performance across all devices including smartphones, tablets, and desktop computers
- Language Translation: Simplified language translation capabilities to serve Maryland’s diverse communities
The year-long modernization effort involved conducting a comprehensive content audit, studying best-in-class government websites, and collaborating with dozens of OAG staff members, content owners, and technical reviewers. DoIT provided technical expertise in designing and building the site and will provide secure hosting infrastructure to ensure the website meets modern web standards.
The existing website at www.marylandattorneygeneral.gov will remain accessible without updates during a brief transition period before being preserved in a public digital archive. After the transition period, the current URL will automatically redirect visitors to the new oag.maryland.gov site.
Members of the public are encouraged to explore the new website and use our new feedback form to help OAG continue to improve user experience.
In making this announcement, Attorney General Brown thanked Christian Barrera, OAG’s Chief of Staff, for his leadership; Ben Wolff, OAG’s Director of Performance and Innovation, for spearheading this project; and Marcy Jacobs, Deputy Secretary, Digital Experience at the Department of Information Technology, along with her Maryland Digital Service team, for their partnership.
