The OAG also protects the public by civil enforcement of antitrust, civil rights, consumer protection, and securities laws and regulations and by the prosecution of organized crime, Medicaid fraud, environmental crimes, insurance fraud, state tax evasion, and other statutorily assigned matters. As Maryland's 47th Attorney General, Anthony G. Brown leads the Office with a critical focus on equity, justice, and fairness.

The OAG seeks an experienced attorney to serve as Senior Assistant Attorney General (Senior AAG) in the Civil Litigation Division. This division represents Maryland state agencies and officials in state and federal courts, handling some of the most significant civil litigation matters facing the State. In addition to managing complex cases, the Civil Litigation Division reviews and approves all civil complaints filed on behalf of the State, oversees settlement approvals and serves as a key resource and advisor on litigation strategy for other divisions and units within the OAG.

The Senior AAG will manage complex civil litigation, draft and revise pleadings and motions, conduct discovery, argue significant motions and appeals, advise other divisions and units on litigation strategy and negotiate and approve settlements in civil cases. The Senior AAG will serve as a key resource for litigation guidance across the OAG, including providing advice to senior officials and the Attorney General's executive team.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the State of Maryland by working on high-profile cases and shaping litigation strategy at the highest level. If you are a skilled litigator with a passion for public service and a commitment to justice, we invite you to apply and join a team dedicated to making a difference.
