Decedent and Officer Identified in Fatal Police-Involved Shooting in Fort Washington Park

BALTIMORE, MD – The Independent Investigations Division (IID) of the Maryland Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has identified the decedent and the Maryland-National Capital Park Police (MNCPP), Prince George's County Division, officer involved in the fatal, police-involved shooting that occurred on Friday, July 31, 2026, in Fort Washington, Prince George's County, Maryland.    

The decedent is identified as 30-year-old Alex Charles of Fort Washington.

The involved MNCPP officer is identified as Corporal Anthony Delozier, a 15-year veteran of the department with 24 years of prior service. Corporal Delozier is assigned to Field Operations.
